10 Months
Owen Miles…
You are already ten months old. I missed writing your nine month post because I was too busy holding you up by one leg in the middle of Target, and keeping you from falling down the stairs. And well… I’ve been doing my very best to keep you alive.
You are an adventurous little baby. I love that about you. You have the best smile. When your daddy pushes you in a swing at the park, and you are going so high that you could practically sit on the moon, you still want to go higher. I know with your courageous spirit you’d ask him to push you higher if only you could talk. Until then you giggle and laugh like a wild man. I love it.
This month you have changed a lot. You can stand by yourself. You are still wobbly but you try to walk. You take several steps when holding my hands or when moving along the couch. You would be running if your little baby body would just cooperate.
Right now you are a man of few words. You say: hi, mama, dada, and ni ni (good night) dada. You are not a big talker yet. But that is because you are too busy crawling around.
You love to move. You love to pull yourself up on everything. You like to sit in boxes. You like to eat apple sauce. And you love to be around people.
This month I am transitioning you to bottles so I can go to Romania in October. Sorry. I know you hated that at first, but now you love it. You do a happy dance every time you see me make one. You have three bottles, three meals a day, and several snacks a day.
I think snacks are your favorite. Cheerios are definitely on the top of your list. I don’t even think twice when I see you eating something off the floor anymore, because I know it is a Cheerio. Somehow your Cheerios have overtaken the living room and seem to be multiplying.
Another big thing you’ve learned about this month is when mommy says the word “No.” But understand that I only tell you “no” for your good. Like when you wanted to bite a power cord. I know it looked like licorice, but I probably would have said no to that too. Thankfully you are a quick learner.
You always have been a great learner. Let’s take sleep for example. Once you learned what naps where you loved them. Right now you take a long morning nap and a short afternoon nap. And you sleep for almost twelve hours at night.
Owen Miles you are such a joy in my life, and I am so happy that I of all women get to be your mommy. I consider it a great privilege and a delight. You are my sweet baby and I love you very much!

so sweet! happy ten months
So sweet – and I love the picture! My youngest is by far my most adventurous and I can totally relate to those times when you are simply trying to prevent their self destruction!
