Ready to Pop: World’s Best Caramel Corn
One of my favorite sweet treats is homemade caramel corn. It is the perfect combination of sweet and salty. And my mom makes the world’s best! Last month, she made it for my sister’s baby shower. She added cute little tags that said “ready to pop” and it was by far my favorite snack at the shower. Because it was so delicious I have to share the recipe with you.
What you’ll need:
- 32 cups- popped popcorn
- 2 cups- brown sugar
- 2 sticks of margarine
- ½ cup shite corn syrup
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
What to do:
- Place popped popcorn in the oven at 150 degrees while you make the caramel.
- Bring ingredients (listed above) to boil for 5 minutes and then add ½ tsp. baking soda.
- Pour the mix over popcorn in large pan.
- Bake caramel corn for one hour at 250 degrees.
- Stir every 15 minutes.
For my sister’s baby shower we displayed the caramel corn in small plastic bags and added blue tags that said “ready to pop” on them. You can change the color of the tags or display pending your type of party.
