Good Friday Poem

To remember what Jesus did on the cross for us, Mark and I have spent the last few nights writing a poem together. We had such a fun time rejoicing in our salvation and I thought since it was Good Friday I would share it with you.
Good Friday
His song gushed forth that ancient tree
And I rejoiced my mouth upon the fruit
Sweet serpent whispers the sovereign decree
Desire sucks marrow from the root
Cursed.
Conceived rebellion, sweat-bearing thorn
Incarnate descent, cursed by my tongue
His word for mine, a breath reborn
Abiding dance, majesty sung.
Reversed.
